About Us

For the best part of 40 years Carol Cattley has provided useful tools for art and other arts teachers.

In the 1980s she launched Learning Art History, a
picture hire service for schools, using sets of framed colour reproductions, wall cards and picture labels. Schools can still subscribe for fresh pictures each term.
In the 1990s the National Curriculum prompted her to assemble postcards from museums, galleries and collections worldwide for the Critical Studies Attainment Target. Goodwill's postcard sets in wallets, or display folders with teaching notes, established a unique niche in the education market and won Goodwill Art an Educational Supplier of the Year Award at the NEC Education Show.
These tried and tested resources are now available digitally as e-books to support the new NC.

Formerly a journalist on the Observer and in Africa — she wrote an official handbook on Ethiopia then travelled with a Turkish artist, organising his exhibitions and commissioning portraits of African heads of state, including Emperor Haile Selassie.

Returning to London, in the 1970s she managed Observer Art, an original print-making project for The Observer Colour Magazine which published original works by leading artists at low prices. This led to the School Prints Gallery — still renowned in the art education world — which she ran until setting up the Goodwill Art Service, originally to put art into offices.

In 2010 Carol published Mindfulness for Schools, a widely accaimed PSHE resource — see www.mindfulnessforschools.co.uk)
